Re: Yankees Off Season Thread

Hamp, I agree there was no fit for Bird on this team, I've always felt bad for the kid. A couple of unusual injuries and the Yankee medical staff really botched the handling of the foot issue. He's still pretty young so I'm pulling for the kid to rebound even if he isn't in pinstripes. I know you m...

Re: Yankees Off Season Thread

Greg Bird signed with the Rangers today. I don't feel any loss there, '55, even if Bird manages to excel for a couple of months. Paxton is my worry, dammit. You would think that w/ all the hotshot doctors in and around NYC , Yankee management (i.e., Cashman) would have gotten Paxton thoroughly test...

Good question. You, me, '55 and Clipper seem the only Zoo-keepers around. Still, I'm not about to abandon what Big Guy pretty much started up for us.

Re: This Week in Yankees History January 26th-February 1st

Any and all would be appreciated! Guys, I can do somethings like Big Guy did, but I have to budget my time during the work week. His formula was review the different baseball sites, plus nj.com, the major New York newspapers (Post, Times and Daily News). He would also check out the local newspapers...

Right, davis. With Big Guy gone and T missing in action regarding any kind of Yankees' news on this site, maybe Clipper should take over? We need more of his perspective on Things Yankees.

Re: Yankees Off Season Thread

I was a little surprised Tarpley was released, I thought the Yankees liked him. I read somewhere that the new rule of facing a minimum of 3 batters had somthing to do with it as they view him as a lefty specialist. I hadn't realized the new rule was being enacted next year. Ok, I will make Hamps da...

Re: Yankees Off Season Thread

Where the hell is everybody???/ Hibernating, davis. This is the time of year when Godfather Big Guy would roll out any kind of Yankee news he could gather. That's what's happened: the first felt wave of his absence. Wake up,dammit! Gardy was officially re-signed, and Tarpley was DFA. As you know, I...

Re: Yankees Off Season Thread

German's suspension sucks, but he MUST NOT HIT WOMEN!!!! Maybe the guys have a blanket party for him... This is the time of year we (I) really miss Big Guy who kept us abreast of what's not happening in off-season Yankee news. T does a great job, but I'm sure it's hard to keep up when nothing major...
